As The Pansy Project I have been marking sites of homophobia and transphobia with a single pansy since 2005. Each flower is planted at the exact place (or the nearest source of soil) to where the abuse happened. The pansy is then photographed, and added to the growing archive of anecdotes that make up The Pansy Project. If you would like to suggest a location, please complete the form below. I ask for a few specific details so I can find the exact spot and honour the experience accurately. You can include your name, or submit the location anonymously. Over the years I have planted hundreds of pansies in various contexts usually as part of an event, exhibition or festival. I will read every submission, however I cannot promise that every location will be marked, as I am just one person with limited resources. However your submission will become part of the ongoing map of places that deserve to be remembered, even if I am not able to visit immediately.
