London – 2023
This pansy marks an arson attack aimed at two trans people and a gay man who lived in a flat on Whitechapel Hight Street. The Metropolitan Police categorised the attack as a hate crime, the perpetrator was caught and is currently on bail. 
Wide View / Planted as close as I could get to the The Two Brewers on Clapham High Street, London. On Sunday 13th August 2023, two gay men were stabbed outside The Two Brewers pub. Thankfully they survived their injuries. In September 2023 a 19-year-old man was arrested in South Norwood on suspicion of two counts of GBH. He was taken into custody and later released on bail.

The pansies above were made in London in 2023, The Pansy Project has been on something of a hiatus since 2020 with much less activity due to Paul Harfleet’s other work with Birds Can Fly. Regrettably Homophobia and Transphobia has continued, Paul was driven to revisit The Pansy Project when the Conservative government fuelled Transphobia and Homophobia at their annual conference, the vitriol and disregard for the LGBTQ+ community was largely derided by the community. The pansies above reflect an increase in transphobia in 2023 and reflect the growing toxicity of the debate surrounding issues of gender.
Bristol
In October 2021 part of Vanguard: Bristol Street Art & Toward2030 Paul Harfleet hosted a walking tour for the like-minded to share stories of living in the city as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
